Mashed potatoes with butter (no milk)

    Peel the potatoes and cut them into even cubes.

    Place in a pot, cover with water, add a pinch of salt.

    Boil over medium heat for 18–20 minutes until completely tender (a fork pierces easily).

    Reserve half a cup of the cooking water, then drain the potatoes.
